Have you bought a new Specna Arms airsoft gun, connected the battery… and nothing happens?
No shot. No response. Silence.
Before you start panicking that the gun is faulty, check one important thing first. On selected Specna Arms guns with the HAL ETU unit, a simple trigger activation process must be completed before the first use. If you skip this step, the gun may not respond to the connected battery at all.
That is why we have prepared this short guide to help you get your gun ready for use.
HAL ETU is an electronic processor unit found in selected Specna Arms airsoft guns. Simply put, it controls the electronic trigger system, helps protect the gun and provides advanced functions that a standard mechanical trigger cannot offer on its own.
HAL ETU uses the principle of the Hall effect, meaning trigger detection through a magnetic sensor. This allows the unit to detect trigger movement more precisely and offer features such as:
more sensitive trigger response,
active brake,
adjustable pre-cocking,
programmable fire modes,
low battery voltage warning,
simple programming through the trigger.
All of this is great. But there is one important condition: the unit must be properly activated before the first use.
If you have a new Specna Arms gun with HAL ETU and it does not respond after connecting the battery, it does not necessarily mean there is a defect.
Very often, the reason is simply that the HAL ETU has not been activated yet. The unit is prepared from the factory in a way that requires it to be properly “woken up” and to confirm the trigger position before the first use.
Without this step, the gun may seem completely dead. You connect the battery, wait for a response, and nothing happens. In reality, you only need to follow a few simple steps.
Before you begin, perform a basic safety check:
remove the magazine,
make sure there is no BB in the chamber,
point the gun in a safe direction,
use the correct battery recommended for your specific model,
do not use a damaged or swollen Li-Po battery.
Only then continue with the instructions below.
The process is simple, but it is important to follow it exactly.
First, set the fire selector to the Safe position.
Do not skip this step. HAL ETU activation is performed with the selector in the safe position.
Connect the battery to the gun.
After connecting it, wait approximately 3 seconds until you hear a short beep.
This lets you know that the unit has detected the battery and is ready for the next step.
After the first beep, press the trigger and hold it for approximately 10 seconds.
Keep the trigger pressed until you hear another beep.
This second beep means that the activation has been completed successfully.
Once you hear the second beep, you can switch to the desired fire mode and use the gun normally.
The whole process looks like this:
Switch to Safe
Connect the battery
Wait 3 seconds for the beep
Hold the trigger for 10 seconds
After the second beep, you are done
Below you will also find a video guide where we show you the whole process directly on the gun.
If you are not sure whether you are doing the process correctly, we recommend watching the video before connecting the battery for the first time.
Activation must be performed with the gun set to Safe. If the selector is set to Semi or Auto, the process may not work correctly.
After connecting the battery, you need to wait for approximately 3 seconds. Only continue after you hear the first beep.
The trigger must be held for approximately 10 seconds until you hear another beep. If you release it too early, the activation may not be completed.
If the gun still does not respond after following the correct process, check the battery. The issue may be caused by low voltage, poor contact or a damaged connector.
Make sure the battery is really connected properly. With some connectors, even a small incomplete connection can cause the gun to behave incorrectly.
If you have followed the entire process correctly, the battery is charged and the gun still does not respond, do not keep repeatedly pressing the trigger unnecessarily.
We recommend:
disconnecting the battery,
checking its charge level,
checking the connectors,
trying the whole process again from the beginning,
if the problem continues, contacting our support or service team.
With a new gun, it is always better to solve the issue early and avoid unnecessary interference with the internal parts of the gun. Unprofessional tampering with the gearbox or electronics may cause further damage.
No. This process is mainly important when putting the gun into operation for the first time, after a reset or when the unit requires trigger activation again.
Not necessarily. With Specna Arms guns equipped with HAL ETU, a very common reason is that activation has not been completed. Try the process above first.
After connecting the battery, you should hear the first beep. After holding the trigger for approximately 10 seconds, you should hear another beep. The gun is then ready to use.
We do not recommend it. Before handling the gun in any way, always remove the magazine, check the chamber and point the gun in a safe direction.
Check the battery, connectors and proper connection. If everything is fine and the gun still does not respond, contact our service team or customer support.
If your new Specna Arms airsoft gun with HAL ETU does not respond after connecting the battery, it probably does not mean there is a defect. In most cases, you simply need to activate the unit correctly.
Just follow this simple process:
Safe → connect the battery → wait for the beep → hold the trigger for 10 seconds → done.
After that, you can use the gun normally and take it to the field.
And if you are not sure, watch the video guide or contact us. It is always better to ask right away than to sit at home dealing with a “dead” gun that is only waiting for the correct first activation.
