Docter

Docter MRDS stands for Docter Miniature Red Dot Sight – a miniature red dot sight designed for firearms requiring compact and lightweight optics. It also refers to one of the first footprint standards for mounting micro red dot sights. Docter MRDS is not only the name of a specific red dot but also the designation of a mounting standard widely supported by many brands today. Compared to RMR, it offers a lower profile and is more suitable for civilian shooters, while the RMR is more rugged and preferred by military units. Check out our red dot selection here!

Docter footprint (sometimes shortened to "Docter standard")

  • Two rear mounting screws and two guide posts in the front for precise alignment.
  • Flat and low-profile design, ideal for pistols, shotguns, or piggyback use on rifle scopes.
  • Compatible with many manufacturers, having become the de facto European standard for MRDS optics.
