DWR

DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a special fabric treatment that ensures water does not soak into the surface of the garment but instead beads up and rolls off in the form of droplets. This treatment is applied to the outer layers of functional clothing, such as jackets, pants, or gloves, and provides additional protection against moisture. The DWR layer does not make the material fully waterproof but improves its resistance to rain and snow while keeping the garment lighter and more breathable.

Use and maintenance of DWR:

Over time, the DWR layer can wear out and lose its effectiveness, so it is recommended to regularly reapply DWR treatments using special sprays or impregnations, which are widely available on the market.
