In the military, the role of a medic is crucial for providing medical care on the battlefield.
A medic is equipped with the necessary gear to provide rapid and effective first aid to the injured who may not be able to treat themselves or do not have access to standard military medical equipment and training. The medic essentially serves as a trained rescuer (not a doctor) whose task is to stabilize the wounded and ensure their handover to the medical team. The medic preferably treats the wounded with their own medical equipment from their kit (IFAK), if circumstances allow.
This function is invaluable for maintaining the team's strength and combat capability, not to mention the moral support it provides.
In Airsoft, the medic is a team position that allows "reviving" a hit player and sending them back into the game or shortening their respawn time at MilSim events. Some medics take their role in Airsoft to a professional level, carrying all the necessary equipment such as surgical gloves, a mask, and tourniquets with bandaging material.
