Mosfet

MOSFET (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor) is an electronic component used to control current in circuits. In airsoft, a MOSFET is used in electric guns (AEG) to improve efficiency and protect the trigger mechanism. It allows the separation of the mechanical switch from the electrical current, which leads to reduced wear on parts and greater reliability of the gun.

Use of MOSFET in Airsoft:

In airsoft electric guns (AEG), a MOSFET functions as an electronic switch that transfers power from the battery directly to the gun's motor, minimizing resistance and reducing contact heating. This results in a faster trigger response, better rate of fire (RoF), and protection of internal parts from damage caused by electrical arcing.

  • Improved trigger response: The MOSFET reduces the delay between pulling the trigger and firing, enabling faster shooting.
  • Contact protection: By eliminating current through the mechanical switches, the MOSFET protects the contacts from wear and burning.
  • Increased efficiency: Direct connection between the battery and the motor leads to better energy use and less wasted heat.
  • Support for higher voltage: With a MOSFET, it is possible to safely use higher voltage batteries (e.g., LiPo) without damaging the gun.
