ETU Unit

Processor Unit (ETU - Electronic Trigger Unit) is an advanced electronic system used in electric airsoft guns (AEG) for precise firing control. Unlike standard MOSFETs and active brakes, which have more limited functions, the ETU offers a wider range of options, including programmable trigger settings, rate of fire (RoF), fire modes, and shot delay (Sniper). The ETU enhances the accuracy, reliability, and overall efficiency of the gun.

ETU Usage in Airsoft:

ETUs are used to improve shooting performance in airsoft guns by replacing traditional mechanical trigger systems with electronic ones. This system provides more precise trigger response, better protection for internal components, and programmable features that allow players to customize their guns to their preferences. ETUs are ideal for players seeking maximum performance and accuracy in every situation.

  • Programmable firing modes: Allows setting of individual fire modes, including semi-auto, burst, and full-auto, with options to adjust burst length or RoF.
  • Precise trigger response: The electronic system offers nearly instant trigger response, which is especially beneficial for close-quarters combat.
  • Protection of internal parts: ETUs include protective features that minimize wear on internal components, such as gears and pistons.
  • Active brake and MOSFET: Many ETUs come with integrated MOSFETs and active brakes, enhancing system efficiency and accuracy.

Most popular ETU units in airsoft (available for purchase here)

GATE TITAN:

GATE TITAN is one of the most advanced ETU systems on the market, offering complete firing customization. It allows for programmable burst length, RoF, trigger sensitivity, and includes integrated MOSFET and active brake. It also offers Bluetooth connectivity for wireless adjustments via a mobile app.

GATE Aster:

GATE Aster is a more affordable version from GATE, but it still offers many advanced features, such as programmable trigger mechanism, adjustable trigger sensitivity, and motor protection. It has an integrated MOSFET and offers customization via the GCS app.

Jefftron Leviathan:

Jefftron Leviathan is an advanced ETU system that allows for full control over the trigger, including sensitivity, RoF, and fire modes. It offers Bluetooth connectivity and is compatible with various battery systems. It features integrated MOSFET, active brake, and customization through a mobile app. Completely developed in the Czech Republic, it serves as a great alternative to the GATE TITAN.

Perun Hybrid:

Perun Hybrid combines a mechanical and electronic trigger control system. It allows for setting various fire modes, including burst fire and customizing burst length. It has integrated MOSFET and active brake, while also maintaining some mechanical elements for greater reliability compared to Optical systems like the Leviathan, which require proper sensor calibration for detecting piston and gearbox movement.

Difference from MOSFET and active brake:
While MOSFET and active brake focus on improving efficiency and protecting mechanical parts, ETUs offer broader control over weapon functions. ETU units allow for trigger programming, RoF customization, and extended firing mode options, making the weapon more versatile and customizable.
