QD, or Quick Detach, is commonly used to designate quick-release systems. For example, a QD sling mount enables the rapid attachment and detachment of a tactical sling or other accessories. Sometimes, the term QD buffer tube is used, which is essentially a quick spring change QSC system. The QD function is also found in HPA adapters, suppressors, optic mounts, and collimators or flashlights (check the selection here).

QD can also refer to a quick-release system for plate carriers on the sides or shoulder straps.
