Speedsoft: Dynamics and Distinction from Regular Games

Airsoft is constantly evolving, and speedsoft is living proof of that. It is considered a new category or even a branch of airsoft, with rules still taking their definitive form, gaining popularity every year. Speedsoft is characterized by speed, high dynamics, and sometimes the aggressiveness of the action.

It differs from regular airsoft actions in its arena-like format in a confined space. Players often wear sportswear, full-face masks, resembling paintball players. They typically carry 1 to 2 magazines. For quick movement, they do not wear tactical plate carriers or military gear.

For speedsoft, having the right equipment is crucial, especially a quality airsoft gun with an extremely responsive trigger (hair trigger mod) and a high rate of fire (often setups with a rate of fire of 30+ BB/s). Ideal weapons for Speedsoft include highly upgraded gas pistols like Hi-Capa or AAP-01 powered by HPA and with adapters for high-capacity push-button magazines like MP5 or M4/16!

Battles are short, intense, and full of dynamics, so any unnecessary equipment is just a burden. Lightweight sports shoes and clothing are often all players need to enter the world of speedsoft.

Speedsoft can be seen as the opposite of Military airsoft (Mil-Sim).

Game Scenario

The game scenario of speedsoft is simple but always exciting – five-member teams compete for a flag, which they then carry to the other side of the arena. The action takes place on a relatively small but symmetrical terrain with many obstacles. Jumping, sliding, throwing, and, of course, paying attention to opponents are crucial skills. Speedsoft requires excellent physical condition because each round lasts only 5 minutes but can be quite demanding. Players must be not only fast but also cautious to preserve their single life.

The arenas are similar to those for Laser Game, making every battle essentially CQB, or in this case, SpeedQB!

Controversies and Acceptance

Speedsoft was not warmly welcomed among airsoft enthusiasts initially. Especially more experienced players had concerns about the possibility of integrating this fast and less realistic game into traditional airsoft events. While airsoft emphasizes realistic combat simulations, speedsoft draws inspiration more from paintball, sparking discussions and controversies in the community.
