UBACS (Under Body Armour Combat Shirt) is a combat shirt designed to be worn under body armor or plate carriers. It was developed by the British Army during deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq, where soldiers struggled with the heat and discomfort of wearing classic field blouses under bulletproof vests. Compared to traditional blouses (ACU, BDU), it is lighter, more breathable, and more practical. In airsoft, UBACS is mainly used at MilSim events, where it provides players with both authenticity and greater comfort during long periods of wearing tactical gear. The right UBACS for you can be found in our e-shop.

What UBACS means:
- Under – meant to be worn under body armor.
- Body Armour – ballistic vest or plate carrier.
- Combat Shirt – combat shirt.
Is there any difference between UBACS and a Combat Shirt?
- UBACS: A term originating in the British Army, referring specifically to shirts designed to be worn under armor. They feature a light, breathable body made of functional fabric and durable camouflage sleeves with pockets and Velcro panels.
- Combat Shirt: A more general term used in NATO and the civilian sector. In principle, it is the same thing, just named differently depending on the army or manufacturer.
Advantages of UBACS over a classic blouse (ACU/BDU):
- Comfort: The lightweight and breathable body reduces sweating under the vest, while the sleeves still protect the arms.
- Vest compatibility: No excess layers or seams on the chest – nothing presses under body armor.
- Practicality: Sleeves feature pockets, VELCRO panels for patches, and often elbow pad inserts.
- Lighter weight: Compared to the classic blouse, UBACS is lighter and more suitable for warm climates.
UBACS in airsoft:
- Realism: Frequently used by MilSim players who want to accurately replicate the gear of modern armies.
- Comfort: During long games with a plate carrier or vest, UBACS is significantly more comfortable than a classic blouse.
- Camouflage: Camouflage sleeves still provide concealment, while the plain body is usually hidden under gear.
- Availability: Produced in many camouflage patterns (MTP, Multicam, A-TACS, Woodland, etc.) and by various manufacturers (Crye Precision, Helikon-Tex, Emerson, Clawgear).
