RPM

RPM (Rounds Per Minute) is a unit that indicates the number of rotations or shots per minute. In airsoft it is used primarily for motors to show the rotation speed of the shaft, which directly affects the rifle’s rate of fire (RoF) in AEG platforms. Higher RPM means the motor drives the gears faster, resulting in a faster firing cycle.

Why is RPM specified for airsoft motors?

RPM directly influences:

rate of fire – more rotations = faster burst speed,

Difference between 27k vs. 49k RPM

27k (27 000 RPM) – suited for torque-focused builds: strong springs, DMR rifles, reliable function without extreme RoF.

Higher RPM places greater demands on gears, wiring, the MOSFET and the battery.
