Single selenoid

Single solenoid HPA system is a type of HPA drive for airsoft guns that uses a single electromagnetic valve (solenoid) to control the entire firing cycle. This single solenoid simultaneously handles BB feeding and air supply, resulting in a structurally simpler and highly reliable HPA solution. The single solenoid HPA system represents a simple, reliable, and cost-effective HPA drive option. Compared to dual solenoid systems, it offers fewer tuning options, but excels in easy installation, high reliability, and an excellent performance-to-price ratio. When combined with GATE electronics, it is an ideal choice for players who want HPA performance without unnecessary complexity. Single solenoid HPA systems Pulsar S are also available on our e-shop.

How does a single solenoid HPA system work?

In a single solenoid system, one valve performs multiple functions in a precisely defined time sequence:

  • first, the nozzle moves and feeds the BB into the hop-up chamber,
  • then the same solenoid opens the air supply and fires the BB.

The timing of these steps is controlled by an electronic unit. Since the entire cycle is managed by a single solenoid, the system is mechanically simpler, with fewer parts and lower setup requirements.

Advantages of a single solenoid system

  • Simpler design – fewer moving parts mean higher reliability.
  • Easier setup – ideal for users new to HPA.
  • Lower cost compared to dual solenoid systems.
  • Compact dimensions – easier installation into various gearbox types.
  • Sufficient performance for most play styles.

Single solenoid systems are very popular in CQB, speedsoft, and general skirmish airsoft, where simplicity, fast response, and low operating costs are key.

Limitations of a single solenoid system

  • less potential for fine tuning compared to dual solenoid solutions,
  • less independent control over BB feeding and air supply,
  • slightly lower consistency in extreme setups (long inner barrels, very heavy BBs).

In practice, however, these differences are negligible for the majority of players.
